Nicolau de Figueiredo (9 September 1960 — 6 July 2016) was a Brazilian harpsichordist, organist, pianist, and conductor.
In 1985, he was a prize winner at the Concorzo Internazionale de Nantes and at the International Harpsichord Competition in Rome.
[2] As a continuo player, de Figueiredo performed with such early and baroque music ensembles as Concerto Köln, the Freiburger Barockorchester, the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Europa Galante, and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
[1] On several commercial opera recordings conducted by René Jacobs, of Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro and Così fan tutte, de Figueiredo was a featured continuo player.
[1] On 6 July 2016, de Figueiredo died of a heart attack at age 55 in his home city of São Paulo.
