Nicole Ellison

Nicole Ellison is the Karl E Weick Collegiate professor in the School of Information at the University of Michigan.

She received her MA from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Southern California in 1998 and her PhD from there in 1999.

During the 2019–2020 academic year, Ellison was a fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences (CASBS) at Stanford University.

Her work on Facebook relationship maintenance has been cited by and adopted in a variety of scholarly articles, and she is frequently sought as a speaker, advisor, and collaborator in these areas.

She received a grant from the National Science Foundation in 2009 to pursue her work on "the role of social network sites in facilitating collaborative processes".
