Nils Landmark

Nils L. Landmark (11 March 1775 – 29 October 1859) was a Norwegian jurist, farmer and politician.

He had lost his father at the age of seven, and was raised by district stipendiary magistrate (sorenskriver) Jens Stub.

From the second marriage he had the sons Johan Theodor, agrarian leader, and Even Anton Thomas, jurist and zoologist.

He was one of the first people in the district to commence organized forest planting;[2] especially fraxinus excelsior, ulmus glabra, salix og acer platanoides.

[7] His older brother Andreas Landmark, who was a bailiff in Romsdals Amt, served during the same period.
