Nirmal paintings

[3][4] This art form has derived its name from the place of its origin, Nirmal.

It was in the 1950s that Lady Hyderi brought these artisans to the princely state of Hyderabad and promoted their craft.

The themes of these paintings have drawn influence from Ajanta and other Mughul art.

The first step is to lacquer the wood surface and then paint the precise design on it.

Then the paintings happen with bright colours and finally touched with gold and then varnished.
