Oadline Truitt (born August 2, 1940) is an American Democratic Party politician, who served in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2006 to 2008, where she represented the 28th legislative district.
[1] A librarian in Irvington and a longtime resident of Newark, Truitt was elected by the Essex County Democratic Committee on February 2, 2006 to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of former Assemblywoman Evelyn Williams.
Assemblywoman Williams had been elected in December 2005 to fill the vacancy caused by the death of former Assemblyman Donald Kofi Tucker.
In the Democratic primary she overwhelmingly defeated Newark Board of Education President Alton Wheeler.
As no Republican candidate filed in the race, Assemblywoman Truitt won the remainder of the term unopposed.
