As of the 2020 United States census, there were 3,057 people, 1,216 households, and 953 families residing in the city.

In 1964, the Arkansas-based Spring Pines Corporation purchased a large tract of land containing what is now Oak Ridge North with the intention of creating a subdivision along Interstate 45.
