She is the Minister of Education, Sport and Youth of Albania since 12 September 2023 and Member of Parliament (MP) for Tirana.

On 10 September 2017 she was reappointed to hold the portfolio of Ministry of Health and Social Protection in the Rama II Government.

In this assignment, Manasterliu was one of the main contributors to the design and implementation of the "Local Housing Strategy".

From 2011 to 2013, she was engaged as an expert in managing and coordinating social and human resources policies for national and international organizations, such as UNFPA and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung.

The denouncement of cases of plagiarism was started by Taulant Muka, a young epidemiologist educated in the Netherlands, who waged a crusade against the “fake” PhDs held by many politicians and government functionaries.
