At the start of the series, Ryoko and her partner, Ringo, are on a routine service assignment when an unseen stranger assists them.

The following day, Ryoko encounters a boy in her class named Ryōshi Morino, a secret admirer of hers, on her way home from school.

The series progresses in this manner as Ryoko develops romantic feelings for Ryōshi, while also parodying fairy tales such as "Little Red Riding Hood", "The Ant and the Grasshopper", "The Tortoise and the Hare", "Cinderella", "Hansel and Gretel", "The Little Match Girl", and so on.

The main characters are part of a high school club called the Otogi Bank.
