Oldbury is a market town in the metropolitan borough of Sandwell, in the county of the West Midlands, England.
After the dissolution of the monasteries, Henry VIII gave Hales Owen manor including Oldbury to Sir John Dudley.
Oldbury manor was held by several families thereafter with the land gradually being sold off and the manorial functions dispersed.
