Omagh (District Electoral Area)

[1] The district elects six members to Fermanagh and Omagh District Council and contains the wards of Camowen, Coolnagard, Dergmoney, Gortrush, Killyclogher and Strule.

[2] Omagh forms part of the West Tyrone constituencies for the Northern Ireland Assembly and UK Parliament.

It was created for the 1985 local elections, replacing Omagh Area C which had existed since 1973.

It was called Omagh Town until 2014, and originally contained seven wards (Camowen, Coolnagard, Dergmoney, Drumragh, Gortrush, Lisanelly and Strule).
