Onijah Andrew Robinson is an American woman from New York who gained global fame on social media after she travelled to Karachi, Pakistan in a failed bid to meet and marry a 19-year old Pakistani man that she met online.
[1][2][3] Robinson arrived in Pakistan on October 11, 2024, to marry 19 year old Pakistani Nidal Ahmed Memon.
Robinson refused to return to the US, initially sitting outside his apartment before moving to a shelter run by the Chhipa Welfare Association and was later admitted to the psychiatric ward at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
[4][5] Onijah Robinson's presence in Karachi gained public attention in late January 2025 after Zafar Abbas Jafri of the JDC Foundation shared a video on Instagram about her in which he stated that she been left stranded for several days at the Jinnah International Airport.
[6] She eventually left Pakistan on February 7, 2025, on a flight back to New York City via Dubai, after spending over three months in Karachi.
