Oosternieland

Oosternieland is a village in the municipality of Het Hogeland, Groningen, the Netherlands.

It is located just north of Zijldijk, along the N46 road between the city of Groningen and the Eemshaven seaport.

Oost (east) has been added to distinguish from Westernieland.

[4] The village has a terp (artificial living hill) which contains a church from the 13th century.

It used to have a tower, but it was demolished in 1822, and a ridge turret was place on the church instead.
