Otto Thomas Solbrig

Otto Thomas Solbrig (21 December 1930 – 8 April 2023) was an Argentine evolutionary biologist and botanist.

His research dealt with ecology and biodiversity of the Argentine and Uruguayan Pampas, Cerrado and sustainable agriculture.

[2] Solbrig was born in Buenos Aires on 21 December 1930.

In 1954, he received a biology degree at National University of La Plata and in 1959, he obtained a PhD in botany at University of California, Berkeley.

He was emeritus professor of biology at Harvard University.
