Pagellus affinis

Pagellus affinis, the Arabian pandora, is a species of marine ray-finned fish belonging to the family Sparidae, which includes the seabreams and porgies.

Pagellus affinis was first formally described in 1888 by the Belgian-born British zoologist George Albert Boulenger with its type locality given as Muscat in Oman.

[2] The genus Pagellus is placed in the family Sparidae within the order Spariformes by the 5th edition of Fishes of the World.

[5] Pagellus affinis has a slightly elongated and fusiform body with a depth that fits into its standard length 2.6 to 3 times.

[1] Pagellus afinis is the most important species landed in Oman by that nation's commercial fisheries.
