Jayachitra, Sripriya, Sasikumar, Kamal Haasan and Thengai Srinivasan play supporting roles.

It was a remake of the director's own Malayalam film Police Ariyaruthe (1973).

Kamal Haasan worked under Thangappan as his dance assistant in this film.
