[1] Two separated temporary buildings were built to retain the station's operational during the construction.
[citation needed] TransJakarta began to rebuild the station in August 2020, after the physical construction of the Senen tunnel was completed.
[2][3] The new building of the then-named Senen station was opened to the public on 22 November 2020.
[6][7] The current building is wider than the previous one, decorated with the Betawi traditional house ornament, gigi balang on its roof.
The access bridge was renovated with an iconic design that resembles the piano keys, eqquiped with elevators for prioritized passengers (e.g. disabled people).
