Patrick John Galvin AM (born 17 March 1933) is an Australian retired senior public servant.
[1][2] His father, also called Pat Galvin, was an Australian Labor Party member of the House of Representatives.
[1] Galvin joined the Australian Public Service in 1950, with a personnel cadetship that enabled him to obtain an arts degree from the University of Adelaide.
[2][1] Whilst working in the Department of External Territories, Galvin served in Papua New Guinea.
[4] Galvin retired from the public service in 1988, and moved to Brisbane with his wife Dr Lenore Manderson who had been appointed to a position at the University of Queensland.
