[1] Jennings was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, on July 16, 1941,[a] to mother Helen Marie Sands Prattis,[3] a seamstress and poet,[4] and father P.L.
[1] In 1964 she spent three months in Europe sponsored by the US State Department with stops in Athens and Iran.
[8] In 1966 she was contracted with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra playing piano, harpsichord, organ and celesta.
[10] In 2013 she published "In One Era and Out the Other: Essays on Contemporary Life", a compilation of her columns for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and her blogposts.
