Patricia Sulcas Kreiner is the former Mayor of Cape Town, she served from 1993 to 1995, during the country's transition from white-minority rule to a multi-racial democracy.
She became the second woman to hold the position after Joyce Newton-Thompson.
[1][2][3] In 1994 she was appointed to the board of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra.
[4] She also initiated Cape Town's sister city agreement with Atlanta in the United States.
[5] As the AIDS epidemic devastated many in the gay community, she showed solidarity by attending the funerals of victims.
