Paul Tirard

Paul Tirard (2 June 1879 – 23 December 1945) was chairman of the Inter-Allied Rhineland High Commission from 1919 to 1930.

[1] He was born in Nogent-le-Rotrou on 2 June 1879 into a family of industrialists, son of Ferdinand Tirard.

In 1912 he was involved in setting up the colonial administration of the French Protectorate of Morocco.

He died on 23 December 1945 in Paris, France (17ème arrondissement), 8 rue Anatole de La Forge and was bachelor.

[1] In October 1947 a French school, the Lycée Français Paul Tirard, was established in Mainz.
