Paul Turner (December 1945 – 1 November 2019) was a Welsh film director.
[1] Born in Devon, Turner learned Welsh while working at the BBC in the early 1980s and was a vocal supporter of Plaid Cymru.
[2][3] S4C director called him "a man with vision and a fire in his heart for all things Welsh and the Welsh language and his desire to portray that on film".
[4] Paul had two daughters during his first marriage to Sheila Ford, He had 3 grandchildren.
[4] He won several international awards[citation needed] as well as having his film Hedd Wyn nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
