Pavol Lisy

Pavol Lisý (born 9.2.1995, Dunajská Streda, Slovakia) was the first [1][2][3][4] professional go player certified by the European Go Federation.

After graduating from the Grosslingová[5] high school, Pavel studied at the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics at Comenius University in Bratislava.

At the age of 6, he finished his first tournament at the 2001 European Children's Championship[8] with six wins out of six games.

In 2009, he received a scholarship provided to 10 promising young players[10] from 10 countries to study go for 3 months at the Kings Baduk School in the mountains near Beijing.

[11] In 2014, Lisý became the first professional player[12][13] certified by the European Go Federation after taking first place in the Pro Qualification Tournament in 2014.
