In 2000, Lleida City Council organized an open competition for a new pedestrian bridge.

It marks the entrance to the campus and functions as a communication and public space.

[1][2] The bridge consists of four longs spans embedded into three slender reinforced concrete piers.

Translucent composite materials (GFRP)-(Fiberglass) have been used in the form of structural floor panels and wall panels for both the railing and the flooring.

The steel box girder was assembled using temporary support.
