Pedro Canavarro (born May 9, 1937) is a Portuguese academic and politician, and a former Member of the European Parliament.
[1] Great-grandson of politician and parliamentarian Passos Manuel, Pedro Canavarro holds a degree in history from the University of Lisbon and a diploma in Museology and Museum Conservation from the National Museum of Ancient Art.
[2] Academically, at the University of Lisbon, he taught Art History, Portuguese and Overseas Art, Greek Civilization, Urbanism, and Portuguese Culture.
[2] He was a member of the Municipal Assembly and a councilor of the Municipal Chamber of Santarém, serving as a member and Secretary-General of the PRD (Democratic Renewal Party.
[2] Among other activities, he was the General Commissioner of the 17th Exhibition of Art, Science, and Culture, and is the author of works in the fields of History, Art, Culture, and Politics.
