Pedro Ruiz (born 1957) is a Colombian Artist, whose focus on conceptual painting is marked by examining the socio-political context of his native Colombia.

[1] He studied at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, which he attended from 1979 to 1983.

[2] After completing his degree, he began exploring painting and printing techniques at Stanley William Hayter's studio, Atelier 17.

There he began work with the advertising agency McCann, where he became the company's Artistic Director.

[4] Pedro Ruiz began solo exhibitions as an artist in Bogotá in the late 1980s.
