Penelope Ann Russell, FAHA (born 20 March 1961) is an Australian social historian.
[2] Russell spent two years in the Australian Public Service before beginning her PhD.
[2] With Richard White, Russell was co-editor of the journal History Australia from 2009 to 2012.
[3] Russell was elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities (FAHA) in 2012.
[4] She was awarded the 2023 Ross Stelle AM Fellowship by the State Library of New South Wales to explore the Sydney streetscapes by John Rae.
