After limited success he returned to South America in January 2007, as Argentina's Club Atlético IndependienteIndependiente moved to acquire him for $900,000 from América de Cali.
In January 2008, the Colombian striker Moreno joined Steaua București on loan from Independiente until the end of the season, with an option to buy for 1,400,000 euros.
[7] Shortly thereafter, WUNR's "Deportes y Mas" host Marino Velasquev reported that the Revolution and MLS had sued Moreno for breach on contract.
