Peta Seaton

Peta Luise Seaton AM (born 9 October 1959[citation needed]) is an archaeologist and former New South Wales politician who was a member of the state's Legislative Assembly representing the Southern Highlands for the Liberal Party from 1996 until her retirement prior to the 2007 New South Wales elections.

She completed a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Archaeology at the University of Sydney in 1981 and acquired her PhD title in 2007.

[citation needed] Seaton was Press Secretary for the Leader of the Opposition in the New South Wales Legislative Council, Ted Pickering, from 1987 to 1988.

She worked in Canberra as adviser and programme director for the Leader of the Federal Opposition, John Hewson from 1992 to 1993.
