Peter A. Cavicchia

Peter Angelo Cavicchia (May 22, 1879 – September 11, 1967) was an American Republican Party politician from New Jersey, who served in the United States House of Representatives, where he represented Essex County, including The Oranges and parts of Newark.

Peter Angelo Cavicchia immigrated from Italy to the United States in 1888 with his parents, settling in Newark, New Jersey.

He also served as director and counsel for several building and loan associations and was appointed supervisor of inheritance tax of Essex County in 1917.

[3] He was a member of the Board of Education of the Newark Public Schools from 1917–1931, serving as its president from 1924-1926.

He was elected as a Republican to the Seventy-second, Seventy-third, and Seventy-fourth Congresses (serving from March 4, 1931 – January 3, 1937).
