During his radio career he was an advocate of Irish rock music with U2, The Cranberries, The Blades, The Attrix, The Undertones, Power of Dreams, Tuesday Blue, Eugene, The Shade, Silent Running, Those Nervous Animals, Frank and Walters among the many Irish bands regularly featured.

He had a brief music career playing percussion for Irish funk rock band ‘Republic of Loose’ from 2003-2004.
