Peter Ross Newman (born November 26, 1952) is an American film producer and educator.
His father was the owner and founder of Leonard Newman Agency, a leading insurance brokerage in White Plains.
[citation needed] He attended Northwestern University and began his producing career in the 1980s.
As of 2022, he is an associate professor at New York University, teaching courses at both the Tisch School of the Arts and the Stern School of Business; in 2008, he was named the first head of a dual MFA-MBA program, which the university describes as the first of its kind in the United States.
[5][6][7] As of 2013[update], Newman lives between Greenwich Village, Manhattan, and a vacation home on Blackberry Farm, in the Great Smoky Mountains.
