Peter Raymond Leuchars

Major-General Peter Raymond Leuchars, CBE GCStJ (29 October 1921 – 17 July 2009) was a British Army officer who saw service in north west Europe during the Second World War.

Educated at Bradfield College and the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Leuchars was commissioned into the Welsh Guards in 1941.

[1] He saw action at the Normandy landings in June 1944 and then in north west Europe during the Second World War.

[1] He became commanding officer of the 1st Battalion the Welsh Guards in 1963.

[1] He went on to be Chief of Staff to the Director of Operations in Borneo during the Indonesia–Malaysia confrontation.
