Philip Henry Hale

Philip Henry Hale (May 24, 1850 – May 7, 1927) was a British-born American newspaper publisher, rancher, and music composer.

[1] When he was four years old, in 1854, his family moved to "Bolingbroke Terrace, Clifton Fields, in South London.

[1] He acquired a ranch and published the Texas Live Stock Journal out of Fort Worth.

[1] Hale married Miriam Strong, a philanthropist active in the United Daughters of the Confederacy,[9] on February 23, 1880, in Fort Worth, Texas.

[1] Their son, Philip Henry Hale, Jr., married Dora Pierce and later, Percy Wellman Newcomb.

[1] Their daughter, Nettie Hale, married Frank C. Rand, the president of the International Shoe Company.
