Philippe Casado

Philippe Casado (1 February 1964–21 January 1995) was a French professional road bicycle racer.

Born in Oujda, Morocco, he was professional from 1986 until his death in 1995 and had 3 victories.

He also participated in the Tour de France for four years, finishing 129th in 1988.

In 2007, at a forum on the legal issues of testing for performance-enhancing drugs, Greg LeMond told a story about a former teammate who had left his team at the time, Gan, in favor of an Italian team that would provide access to doping products.

LeMond suggested that Casado's death was the reason he retired from cycling.
