Pimelea flava is a species of flowering plant in the family Thymelaeaceae and is endemic to south-eastern Australia.
[2][3][4][5] The species was first formally described in 1810 by Robert Brown in his Prodromus Florae Novae Hollandiae.
That name, and that of the autonym are accepted by the Australian Plant Census: Diosma rice-flower (subsp.
flava) mainly grows in sandy soil and is found from the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia to East Gippsland in Victoria and from the south-east to the north of Tasmania.
[15][20] Yellow rice-flower is listed as "rare" in Tasmania under the Tasmanian Government Threatened Species Protection Act 1995.
