He was also the General Secretary of the Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar College Students' Union in 1982.
[4] His legal career began in 1991 when he joined the High Court Bar as an associate advocate under the mentorship of Mr. Gangadhar Rath, a former Advocate General of Orissa.
Since then he has conducted over 10,000 cases of various legal domains including constitutional, Civil, Criminal, Corporate and Banking Laws.
He fought the case before the Orissa High Court for re-opening of Ratna Bhandar of Jagannath Temple, Puri.
He has represented Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd., and GAIL India Ltd.[6] He contested the 2019 General Assembly Election from Hinjili Assembly constituency as the BJP candidate against former Chief minister Naveen Patnaik and was defeated by a reduced margin.
