Ported to more platforms than the original, Pitstop II was released for the Commodore 64, Atari 8-bit computers, and as a self-booting disk for IBM PC compatibles.

Pitstop II adds a split-screen, simultaneous two-player game mode.

The game requires that players keep an eye on their tires and fuel gauge.

They thought that the game was worth playing for nostalgic reasons but might not appeal to those unfamiliar with the title due to dated graphics, sound and controls.

[4] Pitstop II was re-released on the Wii Virtual Console in Europe on August 8, 2008 and in North America on February 23, 2009.
