30 Fenchurch Street

On the other side of Rood Lane is the 40-storey skyscraper 20 Fenchurch Street, completed in August 2014.

[4] The previous building on the site was Plantation House (built in 1935); this served the commodities markets, especially tea and rubber.

[6] In October 2020, the owner of the development changed its name from Plantation Place in the wake of controversy over the financial district's historic links to slavery.

The complex contains almost 3,000 sq m of roof gardens, offering views of London's skyline.

The site is the location of the remains of the old Roman settlement of Londinium, burned down by Boudica in AD 60.
