Terminal scute with two superposed bi- or tricuspid transverse ridges.

[2] P. guentheri is named after Albert Günther (1830–1914), German-born zoologist at the British Museum.

[3] P. guentheri is found in the Western Ghats and associated hills of Kerala state, southern India.

[4] The type locality is "Walaghat on the Western slopes of the Neilgherries" (Nilgiris).

[4] The preferred natural habitat of P. guentheri is forest, at altitudes around 3,500 ft (1,100 m).
