Pollard is a town in Escambia County, Alabama, United States.
The community is named for Charles T. Pollard, the founder of the Alabama and Florida Railroad.
This railroad constructed a line which connect Pollard with Montgomery and Pensacola.
[2] In December 1864, Brigadier General Alexander Asboth commanded Colonel George Robinson to lead a force from Fort Barrancas to attack Pollard with the goal of destroying the Mobile and Great Northern Railroad junction.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.9 km2), all land.
There were 22.6% of families and 26.6% of the population living below the poverty line, including 36.4% of under eighteens and 30.4% of those over 64.
