Powhatan is a village in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, United States.

[2] It is approximately ten miles west of the city of Natchitoches, along the Red River.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.5 square miles (1.3 km2), all land.

There were 29.7% of families and 40.2% of the population living below the poverty line, including 64.0% of under eighteens and 17.4% of those over 64.

Climate is characterized by relatively high temperatures and evenly distributed precipitation throughout the year.
