Previously, he was Vice Chancellor for Research at University of California Davis (UC-Davis).

He was currently (in 2021) a Distinguished Professor in Computer Science and Vice Chancellor for Research at University of California Davis.

[4] He held the first Tim Bucher Family Endowed Chair in the department of computer science, UC-Davis from 2009 to 2013.

[7] He has co-authored more than 350 papers in conferences and journals in the areas of wireless networks, mobile communications, cybersecurity, and Internet protocols.
