[3] In 2019, Bhoumik was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Tripura West as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party[4] having defeated sitting MP and Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate Sankar Prasad Datta and Congress candidate Subal Bhowmick by a huge margin.
Bhoumik was included in the Bharatiya Janata Party's Lok Sabha whip list.
