Premio Napoli

[1] Initially and for many years (1954–2002), the award was given to an Italian narrative work.

In 2007, the four categories and the trio-winning formula were maintained, but the final designation became Book of the Year.

[4] From 2012 to 2016, the Prize was called the Premio Napoli for Italian language and culture, and it was awarded to numerous books in the first year, and later to literary personalities for their body of work.

The trios selected by the Technical Jury produce one winner each.

The technical jury consists of the current president and a panel of jurors chosen from writers, university professors, journalists, magistrates, and other personalities.
