Princes Street is a 1825 landscape painting by the Scottish artist Alexander Nasmyth.
[1] [2] It is also known by the longer title Princes Street with the Commencement of the Building of the Royal Institution.
It shows a view of Princes Street in Edinburgh during the Regency era.
[3] The Royal Institution is shown under construction on the bottom right of the painting.
Also visible are St Giles' Cathedral, Arthur's Seat and the Nelson Monument on Calton Hill, Today it is in the collection of the Scottish National Gallery in Edinburgh.
