The setting is the fictional North Yorkshire Regiment, although the characters are from a variety of backgrounds including London, Liverpool, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Filmed in Northern Ireland, extras were provided by soldiers, wives and families of 2nd Battalion, The Rifles.
Locations included Ballykinler Army Base, Tyrella Beach and South Promenade Newcastle.
