Progreso District is one of the fourteen districts of the Grau Province in Peru.
[1] One of the highest peaks of the district is Intikancha at approximately 4,700 m (15,400 ft).

Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (86.96%) learnt to speak in childhood, 12.39% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census).
