Prosecutor General's Office of Lithuania

The Prosecutor General's Office of Lithuania is the Lithuanian law enforcement institution, the country's Prosecutor General's Office.

[1][2][3] Established in 1990 as the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Lithuania, after the reorganization of the Prosecutor's Office of the LSSR, subordinate to the Prosecutor General's Office of the USSR.

In the same year, it was transformed into the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Lithuania.

[4] In 1995, it became the Prosecutor General's Office under the Supreme Court of Lithuania, and at the same time, Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai and Panevėžys District Prosecutor's Offices were established.

[5] In 2003, the name of the institution was changed to the Prosecutor General's Office.
