proteanTecs was founded by Shai Cohen, Evelyn Landman, Eyal Fayneh, Roni Ashuri, Yahel David, Yuval Bonen in May 2017 in Haifa, Israel.

[2][3] On August 27, 2020, it secured $45 million in funding, led by Koch Disruptive Technologies (KDT) and joined by Lip-Bu Tan, former CEO of Cadence and Intel board member.

[6][7] In October, proteanTecs received the TSMC OIP Partner of the Year Award for its contributions to the semiconductor industry.

[10][11] By 2022, the company had secured close to $200 million in funding, from investors including Porsche Automobil Holding SE, MediaTek, and Advantest.

[17] In March, the company joined the Intel Foundry Services Alliance and began working with BAE Systems to improve defense supply chains.
