In Jackie Barto's first season as coach in 1994–95, the Friars were 18–9–4 and won the Eastern College Athletic Conference title.

[4] Providence College made history on December 5, 2009, as the Friars came away with a 4–1 victory over #3 New Hampshire in Durham.

Providence became the first Hockey East team to earn a victory at the Whittemore Center since the league's inception in 2002–03.

On January 10, 2011, the Friars and the Dartmouth Big Green played each other in an outdoor game at Fenway Park in Boston.
